At $550 a pair, the product is not competing on price and cannot be sold like a catalogue. The buyer is paying for Italian and Spanish shoemaking traditions, hand welting and Goodyear construction, none of which is visible in a product grid.
The harder problem is that the business sells two things with opposite rhythms. Ready-to-wear is a normal transaction: browse, choose a size, checkout. Bespoke is a relationship that starts with a conversation and ends weeks later. Most luxury stores pick one and let the other suffer.
There was also reach. The brand ships internationally, so a Canadian customer and a European customer both need to land somewhere that feels local rather than foreign.
In shortA $550 shoe cannot be sold from a product grid, and two buyers with opposite rhythms were sharing one flow.
We gave craft its own space instead of leaving it to product photography. A dedicated section explains the artisans, the training, the hand welting and Goodyear construction, with video showing the making rather than describing it. That section is the argument for the price.
The two purchase paths were separated deliberately. Ready-to-wear runs as a conventional Shopify flow through collections for sneakers, shoes, boots, loafers and heels, with colour variants surfaced on the card. Bespoke gets its own page with a five-step process, consultation, measurement, material and colour selection, creation, delivery, and converts to an email conversation rather than a cart. A private meeting booking sits beside the craft story.
International buyers get a country selector covering more than thirty markets, so the store reads as local wherever it opens. Instagram is pulled into the storefront, since this is a brand people discover visually.
In shortCraft given its own space with video, ready-to-wear and bespoke split into separate routes, and a thirty market country selector.
Craft now does the selling that a product grid cannot. The making is shown before the price is asked for, which is the only way a $550 shoe justifies itself online.
Transactional and bespoke buyers each get a route that suits how they actually buy, instead of one flow compromised for both. The country selector and shipping thresholds make an international purchase feel routine rather than risky.
The team manages products, collections and content in Shopify without a developer.
In shortThe making is shown before the price is asked for, and each buyer gets a path that matches how they actually purchase.
